Article Processing Charges (APC)

The International Journal of Innovative Technologies in Social Science (IJITSS) is an open access journal. All articles are made freely and permanently available online immediately upon publication.

To support the publication and long-term availability of accepted articles, IJITSS applies an Article Processing Charge (APC). The APC becomes payable only after a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.

There are no charges for manuscript submission.

1. APC Amount and Coverage

The Article Processing Charge for IJITSS is 120 USD per accepted manuscript.

The APC covers publication and post-acceptance services associated with the article, including:

  • manuscript production and publication preparation;
  • copyediting and/or technical editing, where applicable;
  • professional typesetting and article formatting;
  • preparation and maintenance of article metadata;
  • DOI registration;
  • online publication and hosting;
  • digital preservation and maintenance of the published scholarly record;
  • maintenance of the journal’s publishing infrastructure.

There are no additional charges based on article length or the inclusion of figures and tables.

2. Payment Process

Authors are notified of the applicable APC only after their manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.

APCs are collected by SciFormat Publishing Inc. (Canada), the organization responsible for the operational management of the journal.

Payment may be made via:

  • Stripe;
  • Bank Transfer.

Payment instructions are provided to the corresponding author following acceptance. Bank transfer details are available upon request.

Once payment has been successfully received, the accepted manuscript proceeds to the production and publication stages.

3. Editorial Independence

Peer review and editorial decision-making are conducted independently of the Article Processing Charge and are not services purchased by authors.

The payment of an APC, eligibility for an APC waiver, or the method of payment has no influence on editorial assessment, reviewer recommendations, or the final editorial decision.

The APC becomes applicable only after the editorial process has resulted in formal acceptance of the manuscript.

4. APC Waivers

IJITSS is committed to supporting authors from low-income countries.

APC waivers may be available to authors from countries classified as low-income economies by the World Bank.

Authors who wish to request a waiver should contact the Editorial Office at the time of submission.

The following conditions apply:

  • waiver requests must be submitted before the manuscript is accepted for publication;
  • requests received after acceptance will normally not be considered;
  • waiver requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis;
  • requesting or receiving a waiver has no influence on editorial decisions.

For current country classifications, authors should consult the World Bank country classification.

5. Open Access and Licensing

All articles published in IJITSS are made freely available online immediately upon publication without subscription or access barriers.

Authors retain copyright in their work.

Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits others to share, distribute, adapt, and reuse the work, provided appropriate attribution is given to the original author(s) and source.

The open access model supports broad dissemination, accessibility, and reuse of published research.

6. Refund Policy

The APC becomes payable only after a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.

Once an article has been accepted, the APC has been paid, and post-acceptance production or publication services have commenced, the APC is generally non-refundable.

The APC is a charge for publication and post-acceptance services. It does not constitute payment for, or a guarantee of, any particular academic, professional, institutional, financial, or third-party outcome.

In particular, publication in IJITSS does not guarantee:

  • acceptance or recognition of the article by a university or other academic institution;
  • eligibility for a scholarship, grant, funding programme, academic promotion, degree requirement, or institutional evaluation;
  • inclusion or continued inclusion in any particular indexing or abstracting database;
  • a particular citation level, academic impact, or other research metric;
  • acceptance of the publication for any other purpose determined by a third party.

A decision by a university, funding organization, indexing service, scholarship programme, employer, evaluation body, or other third party not to recognize or accept a published article does not, by itself, constitute grounds for an APC refund.

Refund requests may be considered in cases of:

  • duplicate payment;
  • erroneous or incorrect charges; or
  • circumstances in which the Publisher is unable to provide publication of an accepted article.

Any approved refund will be processed using the original payment method where reasonably possible.

Nothing in this Refund Policy limits any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
